We know that time and weather are important when learning to fly, which is why we run our Spain courses at Lake Bornos, where the generally favourable conditions and large flying site give us excellent training opportunities.
We also understand that if you are taking time away from work and travelling abroad to train, you want to make the most of every day. Our Spain courses therefore run over consecutive training days, allowing students to immerse themselves in the course and maximise their flying opportunities.
Our 6-day Beginner Course is designed to take students from complete beginner through to their first solo Paramotor flight.
For those who want to become a fully qualified APPI PPG Pilot, our 12-day Pilot Course combines the Beginner and Intermediate stages into one complete training programme. This can either be completed entirely in Spain or split between the UK and Spain.
Accommodation is available alongside our courses, making Spain a simple, all-in-one option for students travelling to train.

Accommodation & Food
SkySchool students and staff are accommodated in cabins on a camp site on the edge of Lake Bornos.
The accommodation is simple yet affordable and allows students to build team unity while being immersed in the sport. Each student is accommodated in a single room in a shared, self catered bungalow with air conditioning.
On Sunday check in is after 3pm and check out no later than 10am. There are several good restaurants within walking distance, as well as a supermarket.

Students should aim to arrive and depart on a Sunday as the Courses start at 09.00 on Monday morning and end on Saturday afternoon. The courses follow the APPI PPG training syllabus.
During the day please bring appropriate footwear (ankle supporting boots are recommended), water, food suncream and suitable clothing for the time of year, including a jacket and trousers as it can get cold while flying.
The nearest airports are Jerez, Seville, Gibraltar and Malaga. We recommend students hire a car in order to not only make your travel from the airport to Lake Bornos very easy but also to give you more freedom to explore the region when not training.
We will connect students together on a WhatsApp group a month or so before the course allowing you to discuss sharing hire cars. We require students sitting a course in Spain to have their own Insurance. If you have any questions please contact us.

The training sites in Spain are Lake Bornos, which is about 1 hour south of Seville and 2 hours west of Malaga. We also fly from Conil de la Frontera on the coast, which is 1 hour west of Gibraltar and close to the famous Cape Trafalgar.

Students should fly into and out of Malaga or Seville Airports on a Sunday. The courses start at 9am on Monday morning and finish around 18:00 on Saturday afternoon. Sunday is the Team's day off.

Most people share the cost of hire cars having liaised together over the flight times via the WhatsApp Group that we send out in the pre course email. This helps keep the transport costs down quite considerably.

Our favourite site is on the coast at Conil de la Frontera as the on shore breeze makes the conditions extremely smooth. It is also possible to fly all day as there are no thermals on the coast. When not flying there are plenty of good restaurants, some of which you can fly to!

It is very safe to learn how to Paramotor in Spain. The golden rule is to never fly low over the water. The wide open training site at Lake Bornos ensures there are very few obstacles that create rotor or for the the student to be distracted by when taking off or landing. Likewise the wide, open beaches ensure we never need to fly over the sea at any stage. The on shore laminar winds make flying on the coast really smooth and ideal for Paramotoring and ParaTriking.
